February Preview
February is traditionally a long month. Hot off of the Streakers competition, it's back to just the regular old grind of training. This is going to be the first month where I'll really be tested in terms of my commitment to run Vermont. If I can run 208 miles in February, I'll know that I can remain committed through to July. This months Fat Ass comes up quick on the 9th with the Frozen Dead Guy 50K. Then, I have my first race of the season with the Twin Mountain trudge up in Wyoming. A 22 mile race in the Medicine Bow Mountains outside of Laramie and snowshoes are not permitted. Hence "Trudge." I'm stoked for both. So, that's the goal. Complete both events, run 208 miles, and lose another 3 lbs.

  1. Hey John, I would like to do something like this for my blog to track my progress as well. For your 3 mile time trial do you run 3 miles as fast as you can?

  2. Carson...

I don't like the phrase "as fast as you can." But... that about sums it up. It's when I run at or just above Threshold for 3 miles. I don't race 50K's.. but if I did... it's the pace I would race them at. Hope that makes sense.
